Kyle Devlin
Director of Tennis

Kyle came to Fairfield Tennis with over 15 years teaching experience and is USPTA and PTR Certified. Kyle played tennis for his high school in New Jersey and was a Nationally ranked junior player that competed for the Zonal team which consisted of the top 15 players in his section of the country. He continued his schooling at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, New Jersey. He was an All American Player in 2006 and Regional Champion in Singles and Doubles in 2006-2007. Kyle was also the National Doubles Champion and Singles Runner-up in 2006. In 2007 Kyle became a Certified First Volley Instructor that helps teach adaptive tennis to individuals with special physical needs. In his most recent jobs Kyle traveled worldwide with a player who competed in ITF Tournaments, worked at Intensity in Norwalk and was the 10 and Under Program Manager at Bucks County Racquet Club. After 3 years of committed efforts with us, Kyle has been promoted to Director of Tennis for the indoor season. During the outdoor season Kyle works at Brooklawn Country Club. In Kyle’s spare time he likes to spend time with his family and volunteer at his church.

Lucie Sipkova
Director of Tennis - Summer Season

Lucie joined Fairfield Tennis staff in spring 2016. Prior to Fairfield Tennis, Lucie served as a graduate assistant for the Illinois State women's tennis program (2014-2016), where she completed her double master degree in Recreational Management and Sport Psychology. Lucie came to the United States from the Czech Republic to start her collegiate athletic career in 2010 at Oklahoma Christian, where she won an NAIA doubles national championship before earning All-American honors after transferring to California University of PA. Lucie placed as high as fifth in both singles and doubles at the ITA National Championship. She was honored with ITA All-American singles and doubles accolades, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Athlete of the year honors and PSAC tournament most outstanding player recognition each year she competed. Lucie became just the fourth player in school history to earn All-America status in both singles and doubles during the same year. Prior to collegiate tennis, Lucie was ranked 650 in the world in doubles and as high as 42 in singles in very competitive women’s ranking in her home country (Czech Republic) while competing with players such as Karolina Pliskova or Petra Kvitova. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis with her husband, cooking and traveling.

Clive Ullyett
Tennis Professional

As a junior in Zimbabwe Clive was top in the country in both tennis and squash. After moving to South Africa Clive competed at a top level in tennis, and in the 18's ended up in the top five in the country in doubles and top twenty in singles. In the years before attending the University of South Alabama Clive had a win over the world ranked team of Neil Broad and Stefan Kruger among others. Clive attended the University of South Alabama from 1990 to 1994 and holds an International Business Marketing degree and an MBA. As a player there Clive earned All-Conference honors in 1992, 1993, and 1994 in doubles and was named All-American in doubles with Peter Kuhn. This was after Peter and Clive had won the All-American National Hard court Tournament in Austin,Texas. In May of 1994, making its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance, the 6th seeded South Alabama team beat 3rd seed Auburn 4-0 in the Region III Tournament. Later that month Kuhn/Ullyett became the first doubles team in program history to earn All-American honors. In 2006 Clive was selected to the Sunbelt Conference 30-year Anniversary team, where South Alabama placed nine players. After competing in NCAA Division I tennis for South Alabama, Clive played satellites and futures for two years and was the Assistant Tennis Coach for the South Alabama men's and women's teams from 1996 to 1998. Clive has worked with nationally ranked collegiate and junior players and has been at Proform Tennis Academy since its inception. He has also played a significant role in coaching at The Tokeneke Club and The Field Club of Greenwich. 

Michael Kember
Tennis Professional

A tournament tested player, Michael brings over 15 years of teaching experience to his work at Fairfield Tennis. He earned All American honors at Washington College in Maryland, including two NCAA National Championships. He also achieved top 3 Sectional and State rankings in Florida and the Mid-Atlantic. His teaching background includes working with touring pros, NCAA national champions, nationally ranked juniors, and state high school champions. He also enjoys working with beginners through the most experienced tournament player and every level in-between. He is Director of Tennis at Birchwood Country Club in Westport.

Mitch Cravens
Tennis Professional

Mitch brings over 25 years of teaching and management experience at tennis facilities throughout Fairfield County and Westchester County. This included the position as Head Tennis Professional at Fairfield Beach Club for 11 years in the summer months, Head Tennis Professional at Brooklawn Country Club for the last 7 years and Director of Tennis from 1991-2000 at Fairfield Indoor Tennis. For 7 years during the winter months Mitch was the General Manager at Yonkers Tennis Center. He is fully certified with the U.S.P.T.R. While playing Division I collegiate tennis at Furman University he received a B.A. in Spanish. As a junior he was ranked in the top 15 in the Eastern and New England sections.

Dave Fowler
Tennis Professional

This tennis pro has seen it all! A USPTA professional for over 40 years, Dave has also taught at our Kings Highway, Milford, Shippan and Trumbull indoor facilities and been head pro at nearby clubs like Shorehaven Golf Club, Shore and Country Club, Wee Burn Country Club and Brooklawn Country Club. Students have thrived under Dave’s tutelage, with over 400 earning National and Sectional rankings, four being named collegiate All Americans, ten ranking #1 in USTA New England, two winning the National Sportsmanship Award and four playing professionally. Dave is a past recipient of the William Friedman Award for his contributions to Junior Tennis in New England.

Andy Vonderheyde
Tennis Professional

Born in Oakland, California, Andy earned a BA Degree in Music from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where he was captain of the tennis team and played #1. A USPTA certified instructor for over 32 years, he has taught at the Country Club of Fairfield, The Patterson Club, The Westport Tennis Club, Aspetuck Country Club, and Long Ridge Club in Stamford. He is currently teaching summers at Black Rock Yacht Club. He enjoys working with juniors because he gets a kick out of “seeing them improve and growing to love the game.” Andy seeks the water when not on the courts, finding time for windsurfing and sailing.

Yannick Sankara
Tennis Professional

Sankara was born in Burkina Faso, West Africa where he grew up playing tennis starting at age 7. At 9 years of age he played for his country team. In 1999 he was selected to play for the African Championships. He also played ITF Futures as a teenager and went on to play Davis Cup at age 17. Two years ago he came to the United States and joined an academy in Florida. He trained at the Bill Adams Tennis Academy for 5 months before returning to Africa. At a tournament in Cameron, Africa he met Joseph Oyebog who brought him to Connecticut to teach with the Oyebog Tennis Academy. Soon after he joined the staff at Fairfield Tennis and specializes in teaching private lessons and thoroughly enjoys working with the juniors helping them to reach their goals. In Sankara’s spare time he likes to dance, watch movies and when traveling his favorite destination is Paris. He is fluent in French and working hard on his English.

Drew Adams
Tennis Professional

Drew Adams was born in Georgetown, Guyana and raised in the Bronx, New York. He started playing tennis at the age of five. He was a nationally ranked junior in the boys 16s and 18s and also ranked #1 in those divisions for the Eastern section. Drew attended the University of South Carolina playing singles for the team and received the award of NCAA All-American. In the NCAA circuit he was ranked in the top 20 nationally in singles. Drew graduated in 2015 with a degree in sport and entertainment management. In 2015, he was a volunteer assistant at the University of South Carolina for the tennis team. Drew has previously taught tennis at Forest Lake Country Club in South Carolina and just started working the summers at the Country Club of Fairfield (2015-present). He joins the staff here at Fairfield Tennis in the Fall 2017. Drew has passion in teaching what he believes is the most difficult sport in the world. In his downtime he enjoys reading and binge watching Netflix.
